With stuffed horses and golden toilets, Maurizio Cattelan truly is a provocateur of the art world.
The Italian artist's satirical approach to art has also had him labelled as a joker or prankster.
He is commonly noted for his use of taxidermy during the mid-1990s. Pictured is a piece from 1997 called Novecento, consisting of the taxidermied body of a former racehorse named Tiramisu, which hangs by a harness in an elongated, drooping posture.
